Following the current trend in the home audio equipment sector, Yamaha this year introduced its own multi-room network system. This new technology from the Japanese has received the name of MusicCast , and it offers us a multiroom connection that is made both through WiFi and Bluetooth, and that also has the particularity of being able to work in two directions. This means that the computers can not only receive music through the network but can also send what they are playing at that moment. This feature is especially useful when, for example, we are watching the news on the TV in the dining room but we also want to listen to it while preparing dinner in the kitchen through a small desktop speaker. We can also play music on the HiFi equipment in the living room and distribute it to all the rooms in the house where we have a MusicCast equipment installed , or send different songs to each equipment through the MusicCast application for mobile devices.
Personal Audio
The MusicCast system has therefore spread throughout the Yamaha catalog , covering a wide range of equipment, from simple desktop speakers to multi-channel receivers and HiFi equipment , so it is possible to configure a multi-room system in many different ways, always adapting to the taste and user needs. For example, we can start with the “ Personal Audio ” range of speakers made up of the ISX-80 and the small WX-030 . With a power of 15 + 15 watts , the Restio ISX-80It is presented as a speaker whose design in the form of a box will allow us to place it both on the table and hung on the wall. In addition to the network connection, the ISX-80 has a radio tuner and an alarm function with Snooze and Sleep mode , making it ideal as an alarm clock too. For its part, the WX-030 serves as a small Bluetooth speaker , although of course, as it belongs to the MusicCast family, it also includes WiFi and AirPlay . It offers a total power of 30 watts and is available in black and white colors.
Sound bars
Television sound bars are one of the most popular equipment today, so Yamaha wanted to add them to the MusicCast product line . In particular, there are three models that have the network connection feature, the YSP-5600 , the YSP-1600 and the SRT-1500 . The first offers a configuration that combines six speakers in vertical format with no less than 32 others in a horizontal position to which two woofers are added to reproduce the lowest frequencies. This offers surround playback equivalent to a 7.1.2 systemwithout the need to add a speaker, although those who want to complete the system can add up to two external subwoofers. The YSP-5600 is also compatible with the latest multichannel audio systems such as Dolby Atmos and DTS: X . Moving on to the YSP-1600 , this bar represents the 5.1 option , and includes eight speakers plus two subwoofers to achieve surround sound effect from a single projector. The SRT-1500 proposes a different approach to that of conventional sound bars, since the idea here is to be able to use the equipment as a base for television . Thus, this curious base incorporates a system of5.1 sound with eight speakers, two woofers and a subwoofer , plus full MusicCast connectivity .
AV receivers
The Home Cinema family of receivers has also received the MusicCast treatment , offering a wide range of networked equipment. The offering starts with the RX-V479 , an affordable 5.1 receiver that already features many of Yamaha's audio processing technologies such as Virtual Presence Speaker or Virtual CINEMA DSP , in addition to the YPAO optimization system or compatibility with 4k and 3D signals . The family continues with the RX-V579 and RX-V679 , both with 7.2 channels , and is completed by the top-of -the-line RX-V779. Although if what we are looking for is a higher quality receiver that has the latest advances in the field developed by Yamaha , it is best to take a look at the Aventage range . This series of receivers offers a careful construction quality in which the smallest detail has been monitored to avoid vibrations and optimize the response of each of its components to the maximum. HiFi components and systems
The HiFi components sector has also been included in the MusicCast network , being available in the R-N602 stereo receiver and in the CD-NT670 player that in addition to the compact disc player offers access to Internet radio . Also featured with MusicCast are the MCR-N870 and MCR-N670 minicars or micro systems , two stylishly designed options for those who don't need a lot of power, and the practical NX-N500 mains powered powered speaker system .
