A new generation of Brother departmental scanners for the office is here. These are the new Brother ADS-2200 and ADS-2700W, more compact and easier to use than their predecessors, and with a scanning speed that improves by 45 percent compared to other models.
After studying the consumption habits of companies, Brother has seen that there is a real demand for single function scanners . For this, this series has been created, seeking that professionals can massively digitize images and documents in different formats, such as A4, photographic paper or business cards. In addition, depending on the model, it can be done with a wireless connection and blocking functions that restrict access to the device.
Brother ADS-2200
The first model we discuss is the ADS-2200. It is a scanner compatible with Windows, macOS and Linux systems, through a USB 2.0 port that allows connectivity by cable or with a Pen drive. It includes integrated PrestoBizCard software for managing business cards, and using One Touch technology, scanned documents can be sent to different applications with a single button. In terms of the file formats it recognizes, we find TWAIN, WIA, ICA and SANE support.
In terms of speed, the Brother ADS-220 can reach 35 sheets per minute, both in color and monochrome, with a maximum resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. In addition, it has a 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) , suitable for all types of formats, from A4 to receipts, through business cards. Its dimensions, not counting the input tray, are: 299 x 145 x 141 mm.
Brother ADS-2700W
At a higher level we have the ADS-2700W. With a 7.1 cm color LCD touch screen, managing copies and prints is made much easier and more intuitive. It is an independent device, since, apart from the USB 2.0 cable connection, it also includes an Ethernet port to connect directly to the network, and a WiFi connection in case we need mobility.
Its scanning speed is 35 sheets per minute, with a 50-sheet automatic document feeder. The maximum resolution is 1200 x 1200 dpi, and is intended for a 3,000-sheet daily scan volume . As for the software, it is compatible with PC, macOS and Linux.
The Brother ADS-2700W offers security functions such as IP filter blocking, or secure function blocking . In this way we control access to the device and thus have greater control over the information scanned. Its measurements are: 299 x 145 x 41 mm.
Availability and prices
These two models of departmental scanner can be obtained from now on the Brother website . They can also be found in specialized stores. The price of the Brother ADS-2200 is 400 euros, VAT included. The Brother ADS-2700W, for its part, has a price of 520 euros, VAT included.
The price difference can be understood by the better features offered by the ADS 2700W, including wireless connection, security functions and the possibility of managing operations from an LCD screen.
