Samsung JU6400, UHD flat TV series

Samsung has an offer of televisions for all tastes and above all, for all budgets. With the 4K boom , prices skyrocketed, doubling the cost of a FullHD television - hence many customers continue to opt for the 1,080 lines. But Samsung wants to bring 4K closer with series like the JU6400, which offers the new resolution standard, but maintains a more affordable price. The Samsung JU6400 are available in a variety of sizes (eight in total) and carry the Samsung Smart TV platform ,guaranteed access to infinite additional content and personalized functions. Layout and formats

We already saw in depth all the details of the Samsung JU6510 , another range of UHD televisions that added the appeal of a curved screen . However, this feature also increases the price considerably, which is why Samsung offers an alternative option with the Samsung JU6400. The screen is flat and the housing is made of resistant plastic . The frame around the screen is quite thin and has no frills. For its part, the stand protrudes a lot from the front of the television and is straight. It can also be attached to the wall with a special bracket .

As we have already advanced in the entry, Samsung offers this series of televisions in no less than eight sizes, so that it can be adapted to any living room. The smallest model measures 40 inches diagonally, followed by a 48-inch and a 50-inch . From here the panel grows in 5-inch increments until it reaches the largest model, which offers a surface area of 75 inches diagonally.

Image and sound

Eight sizes, all with UHD resolution , the new high-resolution standard that is gradually being implemented. We also know it as 4K , in reference to its sharpness four times higher than that of a FullHD panel. Specifically, develops 3,840 x 2,160 pixels across the length and width of the screen, while the screen FullHD have 1,920 x 1,080 pixels . At the moment there is not much content in 4K and televisions started broadcasting in HD relatively recently, so there is still a long way to go before 4K is the norm. All models have a refresh rate of 900 Hz , which will be enough for the images to move smoothly. It also includes some additional systems such as Micro Dimming Pro, which regulates the contrast, brightness and color of the image by areas, in order to achieve the best possible result and deep contrast. It also includes the PurColor function , to achieve more faithful tones through its 150 adjustment points.

The Samsung JU6400 include two speakers with DTS Premium Sound 5.1 and Dolby Digital Plus system. The 20W power will fall a bit short for home theater lovers, whose best option will be to buy a Home Cinema or a more powerful soundbar .

Smart tv

Samsung has one of the most complete Smart TV platforms . It offers access to a huge range of applications, where each user can find the functions that are most useful to them. Among the available applications are Skype (although TV does not have a camera), Spotify , YouTube and popular social networks like Facebook. Nor could it miss the personalized functions that allow us to configure the television to our liking. It offers us suggestions for programs that may interest us and also remembers what we were watching so we can continue from where we left off.

As we said, in order to adjust the price, the Samsung JU6400 lack some common functions in Samsung televisions, such as voice control or the premium control that includes the pointer function. The Quick Connect function will come in handy to be able to control the TV comfortably. It allows us to synchronize the TV with a smartphone or tablet and use it as a more complete remote control. We can also transfer files between both computers and it can be configured so that the television turns on at the same time that the mobile alarm sounds in the morning. The screen will automatically display information of interest , such as theweather report or the events that we have programmed in the calendar for that specific day.

Connections

The Samsung JU6400 have a good variety of physical connections. In the back part it integrates four HDMI ports to connect external devices such as a computer or multimedia player. It also has three USB ports where we can connect a pen-drive to start watching movies directly, in addition to the classic AV and component inputs. Samsung adds an Ethernet port to connect to the Internet via cable, but the  Samsung JU6400 also supports WiFi . They also integrate the WiFi Direct functionto be able to transfer data between two devices that are connected to the same network. Finally, it has a single tuner that is compatible with DTT2.
