A new rival with the Movistar seal was added to services to watch streaming content such as Netflix, HBO or Amazon Prime Video. Movistar + Lite, which has been so named, intends to reach more customers who do not want to contract other products from the operator such as Internet or telephony, but simply enjoy series, movies, programs or documentaries by paying a monthly amount. In this case, 8 euros per month, although it is possible to try it for free for 30 days without obligation to get to know it better.

You may have many doubts and you do not know whether to pay for it or not. The fact that it appears as Movistar + Lite may confuse many users who are not from the operator, nor do they pretend to be, but who might be interested in hiring this service in order to expand their television proposals. 1. What is the price of Movistar + Lite?

As we say, Movistar + Lite has a monthly price of 8 euros. Before hiring this service we recommend that you make use of the free trial month that Movistar gives to all users, whether or not they belong to the operator. The payment of the service will be carried out the first days of each month through credit or debit card (Visa / Mastercard) that is indicated to the operator during the contracting process.

2. What content does it offer?

The Movistar + Lite offer is made up of two of Movistar + 's exclusive channels : # 0 and #Vamos, as well as VOD. 3. What conditions does the mobile gift line have?

Movistar + Lite includes a completely free mobile contract line that you can use or not. If you want to register it, you will have to go to a Movistar store to give them your data and collect the SIM card. The price of calls is zero cents per minute with a call set-up of 40 cents and text messages at 30 cents. Additionally, it is possible to contract SMS vouchers or international vouchers.

It should be noted that this line does not have megabytes to navigate, although it is possible to do so at a price of 3 cents / MB up to a maximum of 1.5 MB. Once passed, it will be possible to continue browsing at reduced speed at no additional cost. Movistar warns that when you unsubscribe from Movistar + Lite, this additional line will be automatically removed.

4. Who can hire you?

All those of legal age, resident in Spain and who have a credit or debit card with a Spanish bank may make the contract. In addition, it will not be necessary to be from Movistar . That is, you can have your mobile line with Vodafone or the fiber with Jazztel that you can pay for Movistar + Lite if you wish without any further commitment than that. Likewise, the contracting conditions are the same for all users, there are no offers or advantages for being from Movistar.

Of course, for now it is only available in Spain due to the acquisition of the rights to the content. Movistar recently reported that they are working so that it can reach Spanish-speaking countries, although at the moment there is no definitive official confirmation.

5. How do I register?

To contract Movistar + Lite you only have to carry out three steps.

Step 1 :

The first thing you have to do is register at movistar.es/lite to create a user account. Once created, the system will give you access to another page in which they offer you a free month, although it is necessary that you enter the payment information (card number, expiration date and CVV). Done this you accept the conditions. We recommend that as soon as you enter your profile you delete the payment information in case you are not interested in being charged the 8 euros the following month.

Step 2:

With Movistar + Lite you don't need any type of decoder, you just have to download an app on your mobile or tablet. You can find it for free in both the App Store and Google Play. Another option is to access the service via the web from //ver.movistarplus.es/

Step 3 :

Identify yourself and the service will be available immediately.

You must bear in mind that to view the Movistar + Lite contents you will need to have an internet connection of at least 3 MB. It is advisable that you have one of at least 6 MB.

6. On how many devices can I watch Movistar + Lite?

You can enjoy the service on two devices at the same time with the same user. However, it is possible to identify you on up to 5 devices. If you identify yourself in a sixth team, this will replace the first one in which you have linked your account. So on. Anyway, you can log in again on the unpaired devices anytime you want.

7. How do I manage my devices?

If you want to manage your devices, you just have to enter your client area with your Movistar + Lite username and password. Access the My account / Device management section.

  • Check the devices that are linked to your account and the date of registration of each one. If you have the 5 devices linked, the system will inform you of the free spaces you have in order to link more.
  • Unlink a device on your account. Of course, when you unlink it the next time you enter it, you will have to enter your username and password again.
  • Stop the reproduction of a content to be able to start another reproduction in another of the devices that you have linked.
  • Check the devices you have playing. If you have less than 4 devices playing you will see free spaces available.
  • Edit the device name so that you can easily identify it

If you notice that your account is linked to a device that you do not recognize as yours, for security reasons we advise you to unlink it the moment you see that it is not playing. Next, change your password in the "My account" section.

To watch Movistar + Lite on a Smart TV, the TV will have to be connected to the Internet. If you don't know how to do it, you can find all the information in the manufacturer's instructions. To give you an idea, on a Samsung smart TV you will have to access and download the Movistar + application from the SMARTHUB applications section . If you do not see Movistar + in the applications section enter SAMSUNGAPP, type Movistar in the search engine and download the application. 10. Does Movistar + Lite include ads?

12. Do you have a recording, original version or subtitles?

All content can be viewed in Spanish or in the original version with subtitles, without the need for a connection if it has been saved before (we explain it in point 13). 13. Can I download content to watch it offline?

It is possible to download those contents marked with the download icon on the tab via 3G / 4G or WiFi. Within each content section there is also a carousel called "To download" where you can easily see all the downloadable content. Also, in the "More / To download" section, all available content is displayed with the possibility of filtering it by genre (as long as it is in your subscription and it is not rental content).

Of course, the contents can only be downloaded one at a time. In any case, once the download has started, it is possible to pause and resume it again from a content file or within the “My TV / My downloads” section.

14. How can I unsubscribe?

As we explained previously, Movistar + Lite has no commitment to stay, so you can cancel the service at any time you want. To do this, you just have to enter your Client Area, My subscription. If you later want to enjoy the platform again, you can reactivate your subscription from the same place.

15. What is the difference between Movistar + on your devices and Movistar + Lite?

Movistar + on your devices is a service that is included in the Fusion rates. It allows you to access the television content you have contracted on up to 4 devices simultaneously. Movistar + Lite, as we explained at the beginning of the article, allows users who do not have contracted Movistar products to enjoy exclusive Movistar + content and programs , as well as films, documentaries or series, on up to 2 different devices.

16. Is it possible to see Movistar + Lite on my devices from abroad?

18. How do I know the content that my subscription includes?

You can check the content included in your subscription if you activate the "my subscription" filter (located in the bottom menu of the screen) once you have accessed the genre sections. Remember that for this you must be logged in.

19. Can I activate parental control?

If you want to control what your children see, don't hesitate to activate parental control. To do this, enter the settings through the icon in the upper right part of the app. Choose the age limit to filter all available content (both those that are on demand and television channels). You will have to re-enter the password to save the changes. Parental control will remain active until you want to deactivate it following the same operation.
