Through the computer (without root)
You don't necessarily have to have a rooted Android device to recover photos, files, and videos. There is a way that will allow you to reverse the process, although you will need to have a computer and a recovery program. To use Recuva follow the following steps.
Ӣ Connect the device to the PC and run Recuva .
Ӣ Select your device in the list at the top left and press Scan .
Ӣ When the scan is complete, select the file and click Recover .
The preview of your file will not be available, but don't worry because it is quite normal. Remember that you must save the file on your computer at that time. With this program, you can also recover several files at once (not just one), something especially useful if you have accidentally deleted an entire folder.
Through an application (with root)
If you have the phone rooted, you can recover your files directly from your Android device . To do this, you will have to download and install an application called DiskDigger . It is an app that allows you to recover photos, videos, audio files and other types of files deleted from memory, or even those that were on a MicroSD card . The advantage of this application is that it allows you to choose which part of the system you want to scan, in order to recover your lost files much faster.
When you have downloaded the application, you will be prompted for root privileges. When you access them, you will enter a menu where the directories of your device are located. Select the one you are interested in and go to the next menu. Here you can choose the types of files you want to recover. Once you mark the ones you want to rescue, click on " Ok " to start the process. The analysis will take a few minutes, but when it is finished it will show those that can be recovered. Click on the " save " icon to upload the files to FTP or save them on your device.
