The Xiaomi Mi 5X already has a replacement. It is called Xiaomi Mi 6X and it is being presented at the moment. The new model arrives with a screen of almost 6 inches, with an 18: 9 format. But, even so, it keeps a design very similar to that of its predecessor. It has a double camera in vertical format, a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and memory at the height of high-end mobiles.

Metallic design with large screen
The new Xiaomi Mi 6X offers a design very similar to that of other terminals from the manufacturer. In Xiaomi they have not wanted to go into the fashion of glass and have opted for a totally metallic body . In addition, they show chest for having achieved a terminal with a thickness of only 7.3 millimeters and 166 grams of weight .
The antennas are fully integrated into the metal frames. As well as the fingerprint reader , which is located at the back of the terminal.
The double camera is located in the upper left corner and in a vertical position. As with many other models, the camera background is black, breaking the colorful back a bit.
And speaking of colors, the Xiaomi Mi 6X will arrive in no less than five cheerful colors: black, pink, red, blue and gold .
Double main chamber
Xiaomi has spent much of the presentation talking about the dual rear camera of the Xiaomi Mi 6X. And also comparing it with its more direct rivals.
At the back of the terminal we find a double sensor. On the one hand we have a 12 megapixel Sony IMX486 sensor, with f / 1.75 aperture and 1.25 µm pixels .
On the other hand, the second sensor is a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376, also with aperture f / 1.75 and with 2 µm pixels (4 in 1) . According to the manufacturer, the Mi 6X has an ultra-sensitive mode that combines 4 pixels in 1 to get brighter photos with less noise.
In addition, by having two very bright sensors, night photography improves substantially . Here you have another of the comparisons that have been put in the presentation (which, logically, must be taken with tweezers):
In portrait mode, the dual camera switches automatically to ensure the sharpness of vertical images . During the day, the 12 megapixel sensor is used to achieve higher resolution. At night, the secondary 20 megapixel camera is used, as its large synthetic pixels provide greater brightness.
Along with these two luminous sensors, Xiaomi has implemented an AI system capable of detecting up to 206 different scenes . The system recognizes the scene and optimizes the settings to achieve the highest possible quality in each photo.
As for the front camera, we have a 20 megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor . This also has an artificial intelligence system , which allows to improve the portrait mode of selfies. According to Xiaomi, this system allows more defined selfies, even when objects such as hats or glasses appear on the scene.
The manufacturer has attached great importance to the AI system of the new Xiaomi Mi 6X . We will have to wait for our thorough testing to see if it really works as well as they claim.
Powerful technical set without being top
Inside the Mi 6X we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor . It is a powerful chip, included in most mid-high-end terminals.
Accompanying the processor we have 4 or 6 GB of RAM , depending on the model. The internal storage also varies, with a base 64 GB and the possibility of acquiring a model with 128 GB .
A 3,010 milliamp battery completes the set . This is compatible with fast charging thanks to Quick Charge 3.0 , which manages to charge 50% in 30 minutes.
Price and availability
As we mentioned, the Xiaomi Mi 6X will have several memory and storage configurations available. It will go on sale next Friday, April 27 in China .
The cheapest model has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage . Its price is 1,600 yuan, about 200 euros .
We will also have a model with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage available for 1,800 yuan, about 230 euros . The top of the range is the Xiaomi Mi 6X with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage , whose price is 2,000 yuan, about 260 euros .
