When we surf the Internet, our browser stores all the pages we visit in its history. This section shows us the sites visited, ordered by date. Also other data are stored to make the navigation is more fluid, such as the passwords , data cookies or information AutoComplete . With these functions we can enter different services without logging in each time and it also makes the pages load faster. It offers many advantages, but it also makes it loaded with information and it does not hurt to clean some of those sections from time to time. It is also recommendeddelete our history if we are browsing on a foreign computer , such as at the university or the office. Google Chrome is the most popular browser and it has several options to be able to erase history and other elements quickly and easily. We tell you how to do it, both in the mobile version and the desktop version .
Clearing history and browsing data in Chrome is very simple, and the method is practically the same for the different versions of the program (desktop, iOS or Android ). If we are in the desktop version we will have to open the menu from the upper right corner, clicking on the button that has three horizontal lines. From here we select the History option and we will see a button with the text Clear browsing data.
When we press this button, a dialog box appears in several boxes , logically we have to mark only what we want to delete . We have the history , the download history, the cookies , saved files in the cache , passwords , data AutoComplete data, applications and licenses content. In addition, it has a drop-down at the top where you can choose from when we want to delete the data. You can choose between one hour, the day before, one week, four weeks, or all data.When we have selected everything, click Clear browsing data and that's it. Another option is to delete history items one by one . Next to each page we have visited there is a box , just check the ones we want and press the Delete selected elements button .
The mobile version also offers similar options, but is more limited. For example, here we cannot choose to delete only the history of this week, but it deletes everything completely. What we can do is delete entries from the history individually, only here a cross appears next to each page we have visited.
The incognito browsing mode is also a very practical option when we want to browse without leaving any traces on the computer. This mode is activated from the same menu that is in the upper right corner, clicking on the New incognito window option. When we open one of these windows, nothing of our Internet activity will be recorded.
