The new version of the LG Chocolate , of course, does not go unnoticed . Not only because it is a beautiful mobile, but because its 21: 9 widescreen is a rarity in the world of mobile phones and gives it the curious title of the longest phone of 2009 .
Obviously, not everything is going to be a screen. LG is filtering details of this new terminal with a dropper , but this is, broadly speaking, the profile of the new telephone candy presented by the Koreans.
Impossible to start talking about something else. The LC Chocolate BL40's screen is a 4-inch panoramic touch screen with a resolution of 800 × 345 pixels and a 21: 9 aspect ratio . Those unusual dimensions are what make the phone more elongated than the others. The idea of having such a long screen can be very interesting, for example, to be able to view web pages in real size without having to scroll horizontally . It is also a hoot to play videos in cinema format .
Otherwise, the screen is covered with anti-scratch tempered glass . In the case of a luxury terminal, it is most likely that the touch technology of the screen is capacitive , not resistive, which augurs a good response to the fastest fingers.
LG has not yet reported on the official dimensions and weight of the BL40 but it is enough to do some calculations on the image to know that, if the diagonal of the screen is 4 inches (10.2 cm), the approximate dimensions of the BL40 will be about 130x50x11 mm . In length it is almost a centimeter and a half larger than the Samsung i8910 (formerly known as Omnia HD), which is already quite a stretched mobile. The controversy of whether size matters or not is served again.
Most of the Bl40's controls are tactile , except for some physical controls for the camera or volume on the sides , where we also find what appears to be the MicroSD card slot .
Presumably based on Symbian , the new Chocolate will feature an adapted version of the S-Class 3D interface unveiled with the LG Arena . And we say adapted because the extraordinary width of the screen has inspired LG to create a virtual dual-screen interface . In other words, the applications will divide the screen into several areas to facilitate access to the various functions . This is something similar to using two monitors so that the Photoshop windows do not eat us and, although it seems a platitude, it is very practical.
Camera and multimedia
The BL40 is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera with an optics signed by the prestigious Schneider-Kreuznach house and LED flash . A second VGA camera on the front handles video conferencing. The tambiés camera is capable of recording video and, if the rumors are not wrong, the LG Chocolate BL40 shows a broad compatibility with audio and video files . It also offers FM Radio with RDS.
The LC Chocolate BL40 is a quad-band terminal that reaches 7.2 Mb / s in HSDPA data connection . It also has bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP profile for audio equipment and Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g . Everything indicates that the terminal also has a GPS navigator, although the specific characteristics of this module are still unknown . The same goes for batteries and their autonomy. We will update this information as LG makes it public. Of course, the price of this new Chocolate is not yet known , but its launch on the market will take place throughout this third quarter, so there won't be a long wait.
The screen is a good idea. Not so much for the fact that it is panoramic, but for the inclusion of a specific interface that takes advantage of the gaps to facilitate the user.
It can improve
The screen has an effect that the length of the LG Chocolate can be very excessive for some . The processor and autonomy are also a big question.
