The original JBL Xtreme has been a remarkably successful Bluetooth speaker, but it had to be revamped. That's what this Xtreme 2 is for: better water resistance, greater connectivity, more robust ”¦ The JBL Xtreme 2 will be available for 300 euros from the summer of 2018. There will be three colors: black (Midnight Black), green (Forest Green) and blue (Ocean Blue).

IPX7 certified

The new JBL Xtreme 2 is IPX7 certified, meaning it can submerge in water and survive. In theory, up to 1 m deep and for 30 minutes. The previous Xtreme was IPX4, that is, it only resisted splashes, so this change will be very well received. The swimming pool, the beach, the rain in the field ”¦ no longer have to be so careful.

Bluetooth

The current Bluetooth connection allows you to connect two mobiles or tablets so that each one can put their favorite playlist. JBL Connect + technology, another evolution from the previous Xtreme's dry Connect, allows it to be compatible with up to 100 speakers connected together. The internal lithium battery supports up to 15 hours of playback . We can charge the mobile through a USB output on the speaker, if we need it. It charges with a microUSB in any socket or charger. And it has a direct connection (stereo jack) if we do not want to spend so much battery (speaker and mobile), plus this connection can improve the sound quality.

JBL sound

Good connectivity, long battery life, and resistance to water or impacts are good things. But powerful sound is expected from a JBL, and the Xtreme 2 delivers. Features a new JBL Bass Radiator bass radiator . The internal speakers have been improved and so have the passive radiators (there is no bass reflex due to its submersible condition). The result is music with better bass and more definition.
