On the one hand, the photo Facebook profile must measure 180 x 180 pixels . You can upload an image with another length / width ratio, but the social network will force you to show only one square of those measurements.
On the other hand, the cover photo Facebook should have 851 x 315 pixels . In both cases, for both the profile and the cover, we can only use images in JPG or PNG format.
How much do profile photos have to measure on Twitter
On Twitter, the profile picture should measure 400 x 400 pixels . In this case, the restrictions are somewhat greater than on Facebook: we can only use JPG or PNG images, and they must weigh a maximum of 2 MB.
For its part, the header image must weigh a maximum of 5 MB and be 1500 pixels wide x 500 pixels high . However, the social network also supports photos that are at least 1024 pixels x 280 pixels, up to a maximum of 2560 x 600 pixels.
Measurements of profile and cover images on YouTube
On YouTube, the profile photo associated with the channel must be square and 250 x 250 pixels. The header image for your channel should be 2560 pixels wide x 1140 pixels high , albeit with some nuances.
Since YouTube channels are visited from many different devices (tablets, computers, mobiles, televisions), it is best to make sure you have a photograph with measurements adapted to all formats.
The best practice, then, is to use an image of 1546 x 432 pixels for the cover image of the YouTube channel.
How much do profile photos have to measure on other social networks
On Instagram, the profile picture must measure 110 x 110 pixels, although the social network supports up to 180 x 180 pixels.
In the case of LinkedIn, the profile photo has to be 130 pixels wide x 130 high . For the background image (the equivalent of the header photo in other networks) we will have to upload a 1584 x 396 pixel one.
The formats allowed on LinkedIn are PNG, JPG and GIF .
